Laser Particle Counter - Because Learning

Laser Particle counters are used in pharmaceuticals as well as in engineering to measure the viscosity of hydraulic fluids. The way the particle counters work is using the same basic principles as the laser people counter described above. In the case of the traffic management sensor, the particles being counted or measured are automobiles.

air quality monitor using particle counter — Parallax Forums

22/05/2013· Counter A is set up to measure the total time the output stays low (which is the primary datum) and counter B is set up to totalize 1->0 transitions. At the logging interval, such as 30 seconds, the totals are captured and the counters are post-reset to zero. The time low over the 30 second interval is the official Shinyei datum, so we're not sure what to do with the transition count, or if acquisition of …

Low Pulse Particle counter - Programming Questions - Arduino …

05/05/2021· After 30 seconds the Arduino calculates the particle concentration using the ratio of time the pulse is low. I have functioning code using the pulsein function but I'm afraid I may be missing shorter pulses. I've been trying to write some interrupt code to detect the length of the pulse but I'm really struggling. Currently the code I have prints "st" and then stops. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

13/04/2020· Bill, I would like to see an implementation of a particle counter. This might be a good counterpart to the proposed and accepted "air quality monitor" for gases. I'm a woodworker and live out west, where wildfire smoke particles, and woodworking particles often cause a lung hazard. I'd like to implement a small, self-contained arduino-based measurement device with a small display, that could …

Air Quality Monitoring System with Particle Sensors and Arduino boards ...

21/01/2016· During the last holidays period I started to build an air quality monitoring system, an old personal project. I selected the particle sensor PPD42NS, Shinyei, due to its low cost and easy integration with Arduino boards. I also used a HUZZAH ESP8266 wifi module to send captured data to the cloud so I can monitor air quality remotely.. Next, I briefly present the tests and main challenges …

When you're using the USB serial, the value doesn't actually matter. Sometimes you'll see (115200); but it really runs at the same fast speed regardless. In fact, you can just omit the baud rate entirely and use (). …
